Welcome to the Administrator’s Corner of the Coffey County Library Website. I hope you like the changes we have been making to the website. For the most part, the changes are all in the layout and organization of the site. Most of the former content is still somewhere on the site. If you are missing something, don’t like what you see, or have suggestion to improve the site, I welcome your input at any time.
This blog is a product of a planning session by the CCL Technology committee. We are aiming to more consistently add new content to the site and to make it more engaging. Ideas were shared and the ones we decided to implement were assigned to various members. This section is my assignment. I plan to update it a couple times per month. It will usually pertain to library news, services, and other happenings.
I’m going to make it easy on myself during this first article. While I promise not to normally make the Administrator’s Corner all about me, I want to introduce myself to those of you I haven’t had the fortune of meeting yet. I worked in a public library throughout college, went on to teach for a few years, and spent the last six years as the Youth Services Department Head in Hays, KS. I also earned a library degree along the way. And in response to the question my buddies always ask, yes, that is a real degree.
My wife, Carrie, and I moved our one month old, Katie, to Burlington in May. We’ve been too busy to feel truly settled, but we’re getting there. Everyone has been welcoming and we are having a great time discovering the area. We are excited about what Coffey County has to offer and look forward to getting involved and invest in the community.
