Haven is the latest novel in the Bishop/Special Crimes Unit series by author Kay Hooper. The series features an FBI unit made up of agents with psychic gifts, led by the enigmatic Noah Bishop. This series is one of my particular favorites. I enjoy the paranormal elements as well as the mystery/thriller aspect. This latest installment features Jessie Rayburn, an investigator for the organization Haven; which is an offshoot of the Special Crimes Unit. Jessie has returned to her small home town of Barton Hollow, South Carolina, to reconnect with her estranged sister and try to recall a traumatic event from her past. I really enjoyed this book which I have been eagerly anticipating. The story took some unexpected twists and turns, and introduced readers to some new characters as well as checking in with some of our old favorites. I would highly recommend Haven as well as any of the Bishop/Special Crimes unit novels which can be found at the Coffey County Library.
