Coffey County Library Summer Reading Program 2023 is upon us! Summer break means families have more time on their hands and what better way to spend that time than at your local library? Each of the six Coffey County Libraries (Burlington, Gridley, Lebo, LeRoy, New Strawn, and Waverly) will have activities for youth and adults of all ages, as well as independent reading challenges. You can use the Reader Zone app to log your reading for a chance to earn prizes. Just use the program code listed under your branch’s tab below to join the program and start reading!

Our All Together Now theme will focus on friendship, community, and family togetherness with programs such as Pen Pals, Friendship Jewelry, Random Acts Of Kindness/Kindness Rocks, Ice Cream Social, Community Conversations, International Foods, and so much more! Each branch will have different activities, but we all want to build literacy and friendship in our community.

As well as being a place for fun and friendship, libraries are also the perfect place for reading and learning. Studies show that keeping your kids’ brains active throughout the summer can help prevent the learning loss known as the “summer slide,” which is why we also offer tons of science and literacy activities all summer long.

Make sure to subscribe to your library’s calendar and follow us on social media so you don’t miss a single event!
